Lonnie Plaxico Group’s “Live at JAZZ STANDARD" (VRCL 6012, VRGL 8812) became a long seller album, supported by people’s word-of-mouth reputation. Lonnie is back with new members, and now in the studio. The members except Norris has completely changed; Gary Thomas on saxophone, and the very fresh talents in their twenties(!) on the rhythm section. The mixture of classical standards and Lonnie’s own compositions makes interesting repertoire, which is not only jazz but fusion of rock, blues or wide inspiration.
